This breathtaking portrait of
Zahrah was created by Lorraine Trenholm (Rataki Salukis). The "glimmers" you see in the photo are gold and silver threads
highlighting the multimedia work.
I am overwhelmed by the uncanny expression and markings. I am stunned by the beauty
and grace. I am delighted that Lorraine, from afar, was able to so accurately capture and reflect the amazing lady with whom
my days are shared...

Dusty, by Lorraine Trenholm. This oil painting was mulled over for
years and finally commissioned in 2004. The last reference photos were sent to Lorraine just 11 days before Dusty's unexpected
death. She captured so well the beauty that will never leave my heart.
Susan Van Sant discovered Zafirah at a dog show in Birch Run, MI,
and painted her portrait the following day, relying on a couple of snapshots and a keen artist's memory for detail. Zafirah
was delighted by her new role as "artist's muse"...

This raku fired piece, created by Linda Berman, was a gfit from a
dear friend, Maj. Patrick Kirchner, USMC. It has a place of honor on our wall.
Judy Simpson, a true blue friend (and "Z Auntie"), sent this
beautiful portrait of Garnet shortly after the youngster left for her new life. Now ZiZi, Garnet is living art in Arkansas.
A yearling Kai, lovingly rendered in pastels by "Mom" Gayle Nastasi.
His energy astounds me.
Zafirah was awarded these three custom caricatures during the 2004
Saluki Club of Canada Eastern Regional Specialty. To view more of Shannon Darch's work, please click on any of the caricatures.
