The AMALA "Z" litter is a labour of love,
and the result of several years of planning and serious thought. Through combining Boss and Zahrah, we hope to keep the
best traits of both parents and bring together athletic lines from both coasts. Various suitors were considered for Zahrah;
Boss was really the only choice. I thank Jack and MaryJane Helder for their support and friendship, throughout my years in
salukis and with this breeding. My forever gratitude goes to Don and the late Marie Adams:

in Zahrah and me, for being my friends.
These puppies keep alive Brando and Paharia, Logan and Mali.
These puppies are the future of AMALA Salukis and a foundation for others.
Zahrah was bred to Boss on May 19, 2002. Their puppies were whelped July 21: the
textbook 63 days after breeding. Zahrah went into labour at the civilized hour of 7-ish on that morning, with hard labour
beginning around 9:30. Her first puppy arrived at 10:10. Zahrah's day of whelping ended at 7:15 in the evening, when she finally
was able to settle in with her babies.
